THE HUNTING ZONE

After :

- 12 year's experience in South Cameroon
- Over 250 Bongos shot on our previous zone at Mambélé
- Having initiated the Bongo's dog hunt
- Some prestigious trophies (35 inches )) and some 25 kg forest elephant tusks.
- A European and even world reputation (numerous references in the United States - Movie produced by Andy Samuels…)

Alain RAOUL is pleased to inform that he's got a brand new hunting zone in the equatorial forest of South-East Cameroon.

This zone is referenced as n° 36 and is called 'GOBOUMOU'. It covers an area of 125 000 hectares and is boarded on the east by the Central African Republic.

This zone is totally inhabited without any village nor road and has been hunted for the first time in 2001. It includes savanna and swamps.

Exceptional density and quality of trophies. (Bongos, Elephants, Sitatunga, Pygmy buffalos, Giant forest hog, Bush pig and 6 Duikers of which the famous 'yellow back')

The hunt : From 1st April to end of July

The hunt leaves the camp by 4WD with the professional hunter (P.H.), the trackers and the dogs.
On arrival at the selected area the track search starts.
When a fresh track of the selected animal has been found the actual trailing starts. It can be long and arduous considering the climate and vegetation.
Due to the above this forest hunt requires good physical condition and gun experience.
The dogs which are used exclusively for the Bongo and the pygmy Buffalo block the animal and allow the identification (sex and trophy).
All the sporty aspect of the hunt is therefore preserved but avoids shooting errors and too young trophies.
The Elephant is track hunted
The Sitatunga is track hunted as well in the swamps.
The Duikers are call hunted and shot with 12 bores.

The Camp

Permanent solid camp offering all facilities possible in the middle of a jungle. The rooms are air conditioned and the toilets / showers are shared between two bungalows.
There is an open dining room where guides and hunters have their meals.
